The Alcazar, Jerez de la Frontera

If in Spain visit ...
If you're in Spain, and, precisely, in Andalucia, Jerez de la Frontera is well worth a visit. Not only is it one of the most important centers of flamenco, also renowned for Formula One racing, but it also boasts an exquisite 12th century castle or alcazar. Partly moorish architecture, partly 18th and 20th century reconstruction, this is well worth a visit not only for its historical value, but also for the peaceful atmosphere, the baths and the well-tended gardens.
The Alcazar is found in calle Alameda Vieja and opens from 10am to 8 pm in summer, and from 10am to 6pm in winter.
